BAS Controls Technician - Mechanical Servicing Company - Base Salary to 100k/year - Colorado Springs, CO
Our client, a stable, fast-growing mechanical servicing company, has an immediate need for a BAS Controls Technician who will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting building unit controllers and Facility Management Systems. Our client has been around for over 50 years and has a great reputation in the Mechanical Servicing industry.
The BAS Controls Technician will provide detailed technical documentation to support design implementation for customers, the internal field installation team, and subcontractors. The BAS Controls Technician also acts as a resource for Controls Technician team members, performs tasks under Preventative Maintenance agreements, and participates in the on-call rotation schedule.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for total system operation, including point-to-point checks, standalone and networked programming, and resolving technical issues with subcontractors and trades.
Works with multiple control systems and third-party devices, including Niagara, to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
Configures customer workstations, software, and graphics; performs calibrations using electronic test equipment and basic networking diagnostics.
Completes detailed commissioning documentation, as-builts, time and expense sheets, and daily work logs.
Maintains clear communication with internal teams, contractors, and customers; provides updates before and after site visits.
Conducts training for end-users, supports system turnover, and mentors junior technicians on installation and system validation.
Pursues ongoing learning to enhance technical skills and maintains strict adherence to safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in HVAC controls, subsystem integration, and database systems, including work with Trane, JCI, Siemens, Carrier, and Niagara
Niagara certified with expertise in configuring and commissioning building automation systems per design and standards
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTUs, AHUs, VAVs) and control strategies
Skilled in troubleshooting communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Lon), control circuitry, wiring diagrams, and device networks
Compensation:
Base salary in the 70k - 100k/year range
