Job Summary & Essential Functions
Perform cable assembly tasks for highly complex and critical end use applications. Perform high quality and detailed tasks ensuring high first pass yield and efficiency.
Perform basic cable assembly process steps including such tasks as wire prep, wire stripping, crimping, routing, dressing, point-to-point cabinet wiring, clean-up and close out
Build quality into the product - increase first pass yield, minimize rework and minimize scrap
Support process improvements and participate in actively providing solutions
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
Operate a variety of equipment to fulfill manufacturing processes
Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
Set up and run of the cable automation equipment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print for simple assemblies
Ability to use basic hand and semi-automatic tools including, but not limited to: wire strippers, hand crimpers, applicators and presses, and pull tester
Able to build electronic assemblies and consoles to IPC-620 requirements
Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment
Required Experience & Education
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience required
