Shop Helper / Diesel Apprentice Technician
Location: Columbus OH
Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30
Do you enjoy fixing things? Are you interested in truck repair but don't know where to start your career? We are looking for a shop helper that will have the opportunity to receive hands on training.
Job Summary:
The shop helper will work in the shop performing various duties as well as work under the supervision of experienced diesel mechanics to learn and perform a variety of tasks related to diesel repair.

Responsibilities for Diesel Technician / Mechanic:
Clean truck interior to prepare for rental
Wash rental trucks
Help locate parts needed for repair
Assist experienced diesel mechanics with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
Learn routine maintenance on diesel trucks
Replace parts as needed
Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment
Keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications for Diesel Technician / Mechanic:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of truck repair preferred
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics
Ability to work in a team environment
Clean driving record
Good communication skills
Must be able to work independently
Physical Requirements Diesel Technician / Mechanic:
Sitting, Standing, Stooping/Kneeling for extended periods of time.
Reaching with arms and hands
Lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work independently
