The Butler Catholic Community is a direct outreach of the Young Adult & College Campus Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. For decades, the Archdiocese has supported the mission, vision, and purpose of the Butler Catholic Community. We serve the 1,000+

Catholic students on Butler’s campus, as well as many Catholic faculty and staff. Our mission, guided by Jesus Christ and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church is to provide an intentional community of faith where students can encounter the love of Jesus Christ and grow in discipleship through the Sacraments, prayer, fellowship, and service to others.

The Communications Internship position supports the mission of the Butler Catholic Community within the communications, marketing and graphic design functional areas. The intern will engage in the work of communication through digital outreach, and marketing. Depending on the level of experience, the intern may take a project from start to finish, or participate in many

projects to contribute to the department’s overall work process. By the end of the experience, the intern will have added meaningful work samples to his/her portfolio. This internship is

customizable to the intern’s interests, whether that be writing, graphic design, photography, videography or a combination thereof.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Graphic Design: This position will assist in the production of design materials for the BCC. Responsibilities may include working on the production of materials using Adobe Suite, or Canva, upcoming events via print (e.g., posters, flyers, handouts, ads, signage) and electronic (website, flocknote, social media) channels. As well, this position may participate in other aspects of the work flow: planning, concepts, design and output .

Communications: This position will help with several communication channels to current and potential members of the BCC. Some activities will include assisting with the drafting and management of social media communications, weekly flock note, monthly newsletters, and other special projects.

Marketing: This position may assist in the development of marketing plans, including but not limited to establishing relationships with students in the BCC through social media and contacting new students via several different communication channels.

Qualifications:

Enrolled as a full-time student at Butler University. Seeking a degree in Visual Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design is preferred.

Proficient computer graphics skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is preferred.

An ability to manage time and multi-task.

Good verbal communications skills.

Available 6 hours a week from Sept 2-Dec. 12, 2025 (not including Fall Break or Thanksgiving Break).

Compensation is $14/hour.

Photography and/or videography experience a plus.

General understanding of the Catholic Faith.
