Manufacturing Engineer

This position will play a central role in establishing and improving efficiencies in the laser manufacturing of life-saving medical device components. Additional focus areas may include process development, programming, operator training, designing and building equipment, process validation, manufacturing performance metrics, and process documentation. You’ll collaborate with a fun and close-knit agile team to architect, implement, test, and continuously deliver new improvements to enable our customers to develop transformative devices at a record pace. Job title negotiable to reflect the level of prior related experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

Develop CAM software to manufacture lifesaving, medical device components using proprietary laser machines

Overseeing the manufacturing process of work orders and providing operator aid

Assisting customers with product/service-related questions and concerns

Evaluate and optimize operational workflows/processes

Solving complex manufacturing problems using a variety of engineering tools and resources

Design, build, and/or document equipment

Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

BS degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical engineering or equivalent experience

1-2 years of practical hands-on engineering experience via prior work experience

· Knowledge of project management principles to track deliverables and status of assigned project(s)

Fast learner, adept and comfortable using computers & new software

High level of attention to detail

Ability to read and analyze technical prints

Aptitude for hands-on application of engineering skills

Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours

Ability to work within a team environment or independently under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

Experience or knowledge in Laser Processing and/or machining

Ability to read G-code and generate machine motion control programs

SOLIDWORKS or other 3D modeling skills

Knowledge and experience with mechanical design

FileMaker database experience

Python programming skills

Familiarity with ISO 9001/ISO 13485 but not required
