Major Duties and Responsibilities

The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer I supports Tosoh SMD, Inc. (TSMD) Production, Engineering, and R&D teams with inspection programs for production parts and maintains CMM calibrations. The CMM Programmer I works with Manufacturing, Engineering and R&D to write and prove out programs for standard product inspection.

Reporting Relationships

The CMM Programmer I reports to the Manufacturing Applications Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Write and prove out CMM programs per established procedures.

Regularly performs calibration of CMM’s used in manufacturing while adhering to established schedules and deadlines.

Support manufacturing personnel with CMM related issues.

Collaborate with Quality to establish QDA inspection plans

Inspect production drawings in collaboration with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer

Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct. Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.

Support the qualification of new products and processes.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Associate’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic knowledge of CMMs

Proficient interpretation of drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Basic understanding of CMM setups and measurement methods preferred

Conceptual knowledge of PC-DMIS and MCOSMOS CMM programming software preferred

Knowledge and understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing fundamentals.

Computer literacy required.

Knowledge of quality systems and procedures preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to learn and work independently.

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.
