About The Role:

Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) contract supports Defence estate support services and facilities management. We deliver a range of estate, living, and base support capability including asset management and maintenance; ranges and training area management; airfield & land management and more.

Work on live ranges watching live fire next to our Australian defence force as a Range Operator with Ventia. You will provide range services at the Range Defence Training facility, corresponding areas and exclusion zones during live range activities and operations.

This full-time opportunity offers 38 hours a week with overtime. Your days of work range from Monday – Sunday based on the schedule of works that are planned around the Defence force.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned in accordance with Range Standing Orders

Preparation of ranges along with providing assistance to range users and other customers

Undertake Land Management activities including; grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying and GIS mapping

Undertake first response bush firefighting activities within the limitations of qualifications, available equipment, safety and crew size

Undertake basic Estate Upkeep functions such as fence and gate repairs and other tasks

Manufacture and repair targets as required

Key Skills & Attributes Include:

Current Drivers Licence – Required

HR Truck Licence - Desirable

Experience in Range Training Areas and/or Land Management - Desirable
