DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
RELATES CLOSELY WITH: EXECUTIVE PASTOR/FINANCE DEPARTMENT
CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME//SALARY - $65K-$90K
WestGate Church, a non-denominational, multi-congregational church situated in one of the most diverse and influential regions of the world-the Silicon Valley-is seeking an energetic, skilled Director of Finance to oversee the Finance Department. This full-time role (Monday-Friday) may require occasional work on Saturdays and Sundays as well as evening hours, providing exceptional financial oversight and stewardship for the WestGate Church broader staff and church body.

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively and clearly to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and give directions.
Bring a service-first mindset with strong interpersonal skills-be responsive, clear in communication, attentive to detail, and able to juggle multiple priorities with care and professionalism.
The ideal candidate's skill will have proven experience in Finance/Accounting including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, organization and management, administrative tasks, spreadsheets, systems management, and process improvement.
Experienced in Google Suite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Office - including Pivot Tables and formula creation.
Demonstrates excellent time management, balancing responsibilities while thriving in a dynamic and collaborative environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and conduct executive-level finance reviews (monthly, trimester, annual), and quarterly ministry-level finance reviews.
Support the budget process under the direction of the Executive Director of Operations, coordinating with ministry and department leads to set and manage budgets.
Identify, implement and manage all finance processes and technology including Ramp, Sage Intacct and Planning Center (PCO) Giving.
Review stock donations and initiate stock sales, through proper tools (ie. Overflow).
Provide approvals and ensure the accuracy of accounting records, including reclasses, accruals, journal entries, and prepaid expenses.
Approve monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Act as the primary creator of Finance dashboards and reports, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and ministry reporting.
Support staff by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and providing ad hoc analysis as needed.
Ensure compliance to all WestGate finance policies and all IRS regulations.
Act as primary lead providing support for the annual audit. PRIMARY LEADERSHIP COMPONENTS
