About the Role:

As an Optometry Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting optometrists in providing high-quality eye care services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the examination process by performing preliminary tests and gathering essential patient information. You will ensure that the examination rooms are well-prepared and equipped with the necessary tools and technology. Additionally, you will help educate patients about eye health and the importance of regular check-ups. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance the overall patient experience and support the delivery of effective eye care solutions.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an optometry technician training program or relevant experience in a healthcare setting.

Basic knowledge of eye anatomy and common eye conditions.

Certification as an Optometry Technician from a recognized professional organization.

Experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

Conduct preliminary eye tests, including visual acuity tests, color vision tests, and tonometry.

Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.

Maintain and calibrate optical equipment to ensure accurate test results.

Document patient history and examination findings in electronic health records.

Provide patients with information on eyewear options and assist with the selection of frames and lenses.
