Job Description:
SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a Full-Time Director of Admissions and Matriculated Enrollment. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Planning, the Director of Admissions and Enrollment will provide direct leadership to the recruitment-admissions program which includes strategies that;
Engage and attract prospective applicants
Utilize technology to deploy methods that aim to grow student inquiries, applications, and enrollment
Build the student population through effective communication and enrollment strategies
Support students with the enrollment process
Promote excellent student-centered customer service This position involves a twelve month responsibility and serves in a represented capacity. The incumbent has supervisory responsibility for all professional, clerical and student staff within the Admissions Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a member of the enrollment leadership team
Provides strong leadership in advancing admissions strategies designed to meet the recruitment, outreach and enrollment goals of the College
Oversees the development, execution and assessment of a comprehensive strategic enrollment plan
Provides leadership in developing and maintaining an effective student-centered recruitment and admission process for prospective and new students
Works collaboratively with academic programs and the college community in establishing and achieving enrollment goals
Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings
Represents and serves as college liaison to SUNY, local community organizations, high schools, military, and government agencies, providing oversight for recruitment and outreach initiatives
Oversees the development and management of campus visitation programs for local high schools, middle schools, virtual, and other interested constituents
Creates and monitors admission policies and procedures and oversees the application processing operation
Develop and modify (when necessary) admissions-related policies that are consistent with college, SUNY, and Federal regulations.
Ensures that regular recruitment and admissions statistical reports, projections, and analyses are accurately prepared
Oversees international student admissions, including maintaining the college's administrative responsibilities and reporting requirements with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS)
Collaborates with marketing in the development and execution of college marketing and social media strategies as it relates to recruitment and outreach to potential students and communication of campus information to the new students
Participates in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests. Promotes and engages staff in relevant professional development activities
Supervise all professional, clerical, and student staff within the Admissions Office. Oversees and assists in the training, professional development, and ongoing management of staff, including timely feedback and annual performance reviews Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
At least one year professional experience in a program involving student recruitment and retention, ideally in admissions recruitment and operations in a community college setting with demonstrated progressive leadership and supervisory experience
Demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy and the needs of students
Experience in deploying technology and current marketing practices in the recruitment and admissions process
A valid driver's license
Demonstrated leadership of a team and ability to build positive working relationships within a campus community and with external partners
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current issues and trends in admissions, student affairs, and community colleges
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
Willingness to work evening and weekend hours Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Experience in planning and executing on- and off-campus programming, preferably admissions programing
Experience in analyzing recruitment-related data and assessing programming activities as part of strategic enrollment planning
Knowledge of Banner (Ellucian) system
Experience with CRM systems (Slate) Special Information:
