JOB DESCRIPTION
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval of the appropriate supervisor. The position is located in and will report out of Columbus, OH.
Position Title: Senior Debt Analyst
Reports To: Vice President of Debt Management and Treasury
FLSA Status: Exempt
Basic Functions: The Senior Debt Analyst is responsible for preparing disclosure and other bond documents related to debt financings, supports interactions with credit rating agencies and supports all other debt management activities. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the financial oversight and compliance related to federal grants, as needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates the collection and analysis of accounting, financial and economic data from AMP Members and prepares required disclosures for AMP project financings and annual reporting requires in accordance with continuing disclosure requirements.
2. Assists in the preparation and review of official statements and other bond documents related to AMP and Joint Venture financings.
3. Supports Vice President as it relates to credit rating agencies including preparing presentations to support existing and new issue ratings, responding to information requests, and monitoring publications related to AMP, AMP Members and any peer organizations.
4. Assists in the monitoring of key credit elements such as debt ratios, debt service coverage, liquidity and other factors impacting AMP and AMP Project credit ratings.
5. Assists in maintaining the debt related files including spreadsheets, DBC and the Oracle Treasury module. Ensures Oracle debt information is current, accurate and runs monthly processes necessary to generate journal entries for Accounting.
6. Assists in the financial oversight and management of federal grants including serving as a federal point of contact and any reporting activities.
7. Assists in implementing and monitoring of AMP Programs such as Rate Stabilization and Reserve Funds.
8. Prepares and presents periodic reports to the AMP Finance Committee, Board of Trustees and other groups, as applicable.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree and five years of finance related experience is required. An advanced degree may count for one year of the required experienced.
2. An understanding of or experience issuing or managing municipal bonds is preferred.
3. Must demonstrate strong and effective verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills.
4. Must demonstrate a high degree of expertise in the use of software tools that produce items such as spreadsheets, written reports, and database reports (e.g., Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
5. Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
6. Must be willing to travel.
