Quality Control (QC) Manager
Position Overview:
TeamGov is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to oversee the implementation and management of the Quality Control (QC) program for our upcoming project at Fort Stewart, GA. This role requires strict adherence to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) standards and contract requirements.
The QCM will have full authority over all QC matters and report directly to a company officer, not the Project Manager. The selected candidate must be approved by the Government, with any personnel changes also requiring approval. This position also integrates safety responsibilities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and USACE regulations as part of the site’s safety and health management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and manage the Quality Control program at the construction work site.
Conduct and oversee the three phases of control, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
Attend the Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, conduct QC meetings, review and approve submittals, oversee testing, and provide required QC certifications and documentation.
Manage and coordinate QC documentation and control measures performed by subcontractors and other personnel.
Oversee and verify all civil and electrical work, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
Act as the point of contact for all subcontractors, fostering clear communication and resolving any issues that arise on-site.
Assist the foreman with daily operational duties, providing additional leadership and support to ensure smooth workflow.
Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring quality standards are met and that any deviations are promptly addressed.
Coordinate site inspections, quality audits, and compliance checks with all subcontractors.
Provide ongoing feedback to subcontractors to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Ensure all work meets contract specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
Maintain responsibility for the overall safety of the task order, including hazard identification and compliance with EM 385-1-1 safety regulations.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of quality and safety-related issues to the appropriate company officer and Government authorities.
Perform site inspections and audits to verify adherence to the Quality Control Plan and safety regulations.
Enforce corrective actions for non-compliance with QC and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of combined experience as a superintendent, inspector, QC Manager, project manager, or construction manager on similar construction contracts.
Experience with major trades applicable to the contract (Civil and electrical).
Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety standards, hazard identification, and compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of construction quality management, testing procedures, and documentation practices.
Proven ability to coordinate and manage quality control and safety programs.
Effective communication and leadership skills to oversee personnel and enforce compliance.
Government approval required for hiring and personnel changes in this role
Proven experience in construction management, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of construction processes.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
Proficient in reading, interpreting, and executing construction plans, blueprints, and specifications with a keen attention to detail.
Solid knowledge of construction techniques, industry standards, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient and high-quality project execution.
Strong leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) Certification (Required at time of hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with military construction projects.
