Position Summary: This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic CNC controlled press brake. Position may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines or welding as required. This is a cross functional position within the Fabrication Department.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am
Essential Functions. Other Duties as Assigned
Setup
Set up and operate a hydraulic Press Brake for fast paced work
Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance
Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor
Understand layout and plans sequence of operations to maximize efficiency of production in terms of time, quality, quantity, resources, and overall costs
Review, analyze and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout
Production
Keep work area, including machine surfaces clean and organized at all times
Prepare and run complex bend set ups and forming operations.
Complex programming using all features of the Press Brake, such as but not limited to bending at angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps and delays
Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
Account for time and work completed via ERP system
Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work.
Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
Report deficiencies to the maintenance supervisor
Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes
Understand various weld form symbols on blueprints and drawings
Tools and Equipment
Set up and operate Press Brake
Use overhead crane, forklift, and hoists, to assist in moving materials/projects
May operate, grinders, cutting torch, drills, misc. hand tools
Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift

Qualifications:
High School/GED required plus one to one year Press Brake experience in shop/manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education related experience.
Ability to read, interpret, understand mechanical drawings and specification charts and make direct application to project machine set up and final product.
Must be able to read and know appropriate welding symbols and apply to fabrication process.
Must be able to read, and understand production reports related to quality, and quantity.
Must be able to write NCR’s and comply with safety rules.
Must be able to establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff.
Ability to calculate and measure distances, heights, tolerances, & square. Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part. Must be able to accurately follow plan specifications and fabricate product to match such.
Ability to understand and know company operation costs and production costs and production overrun costs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to analyze and understand project design, bending documents and specifications and successfully resolve practical problems and they may occur. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of job costing/tracking software.
Must be able to program, set up CNC Press Brake controls and operational information.
Must possess valid OSHA forklift – or ability to obtain within one month of employment
Overhead Crane certification
Must comply with and follow all IE safety programs, policies and procedures. Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee must occasionally move up to 100 pounds. Frequently lift 25-40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; stoop, kneel, crouch.
The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit.
Must be able to perform frequent heavy lifting and continual bending and standing on a concrete floor.
Work Schedule: Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
