Job Summary

Pivotal role in driving HR strategies and fostering a thriving company culture. Develops, directs and coordinates human resource functions including, but not limited to, employment, compensation, benefits, payroll, organizational development, employee relations, affirmative action, wellness, occupational health, workers compensation, training and development, labor law compliance and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:

Interface with Board of Directors Finance Committee on executive compensation matters, including providing staff leadership on the committee as requested.

Provide counsel on executive-level hiring decisions.

Support Executive leadership in workforce matters and maintain executive-level succession plans, including collaborating with other executives to coordinate strategic and operational plans to ensure organizational success.

Collaborate with Executive leadership to define organizational goals, lead and support development of long-range strategic planning initiatives that improve productivity, cost and organizational effectiveness.

Partners with Executive leadership, establishes strategies and plans for company culture. Ensures the company policies and values are communicated and understood at all levels.

Collaborate with Executive leadership and managers to analyze workforce needs and growth projections to adequately plan for expansion.

Develop, lead and implement HR policies, programs and practices (compensation, benefits, HR technology applications, recruitment, payroll, timekeeping, vending, development, succession planning, and talent management, etc.) aligning with business objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with relevant HR laws and regulations.

Provides leadership and support for development and employee engagement programs. Collaborates with managers to develop succession planning and people development programs to ensure long term readiness that is consistent with company goals.

Collaborate with managers to develop staffing strategies and programs to identify talent within and outside the company for positions of responsibility. Identifies appropriate and effective external and internal training sources for candidates at all levels within the company.

Provides feedback and coaching to senior management to support an environment of healthy management styles, effectiveness and high employee engagement.

Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks across the organization by analyzing and staying current on laws, operations, policies, and industry trends.

Advises management and staff on the interpretation of regulations, industry trends, current practices and application of policies and procedures, new developments and applicable laws regarding human resources.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations and reporting in all employment related areas.

Conduct investigations as needed and present compliance outcomes to the Executive team and/or Board, as appropriate. Communicate with identified Legal resource for assistance with legal matters as needed.

Lead employee relations strategies to maintain a positive and productive work environment by fostering open communication, building trust, and addressing employee concerns effectively.

Utilize available data and analytics to measure business trends, best practices, and patterns to provide insights for continuous improvement.

Supports or leads grievance/whistleblower/internal complaint reporting including conducting investigations and resulting remediation.

Proactively develops and manages company wellness initiatives designed to help employees learn about their health risks and encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors as well as help lower overall employee benefit costs.

Serves as Compliance Officer for employment-related government programs, including but not limited to, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Family Medical leave and HIPAA

Consistently demonstrate the culture and values of company; set the expectation that employees do the same.

Enable and encourage direct reports to function confidently. Develop, coach, and mentor managers through accountability for their actions. Ensure that managers mentor their subordinates.

Provides guidance and leadership to the human resources management team; assists with resolution of human resources issues, compensation, and benefits questions

Performs other duties as assigned.

Top Human Resources position. Supervises traditional HR functions plus ancillary areas.

Physical Demands

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures: transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Work Environment

Regular office conditions. Access to CONFIDENTIAL DATA including wages and official confidential records and reports.Requirements:

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic HR role.

Tools & Technology: Previous experience using Paylocity or similar HRIS systems and Microsoft office.

Previous experience in companies within food manufacturing highly desired.

Certifications: HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, etc.) are a plus.

Education: Degree(s) in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred.

Skills & Capabilities:

Strong business insight with the ability to understand and align HR strategies with organizational objectives.

Proven working knowledge in recruitment, benefit management, compensation, change management, employee relations. A strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR operations.

Strong people manager who leads an effective team

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Can identify conflicts and address them proactively.

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

Self-starter with strong management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
