Machine Operator- Trainee -- all shifts with weekend coverage

Job Description

Machine Operator Job Duties:

The Machine Operator will work in a factory setting on specialized machine tools. In this role they will gain an understanding of how to read blue prints, preset tooling, setup machines, perform and record quality inspection checks among other duties through practical application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and interpret blue prints

Use standard shop measuring equipment

Recording information/data on route sheet & inspection sheets

Learn to select proper tooling

Position tools in holders

Load machines properly

Responsible to monitor the production run including performing in-process inspections by using standard measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, comparators, various other measuring equipment and recording data.

Follow route sheets and handle parts from one machine operation to the next machine operation including finishing parts by deburring, tumbling, preparing and packaging product for sub-contracting operations.

All other duties as assigned

Mechanical aptitude

Machine Operator Skills and Qualifications:

· Problem-solving skills, Decision making ability, Organizational skills, Procedural mindset, Ability to prioritize, Understanding of quality management principles, Attention to detail, Able to perform math, Talent for recognizing the opportunities for process improvement in those connections. Able to work in a fast pace environment. Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
