Description:

Safety/SHEQ & Environment

Take a proactive approach to safety matters and report all safety events within the Vopak Safety Management Systems

Address all safety matters that are within their capabilities

Completion of identified safety critical processes and tasks

Prevent harm to the environment in line with OEMP

Ensure all observations and actions are captured correctly in Enablon and tasks allocated are completed on time

Participate in other safety stuff T&V, EOR, etc.

Ensure adequate monitoring and field compliance of all on site personnel including PTW are complied with.

Operations

Contribute to planning and safe execution of all frontline terminal operational & shipping activities in accordance with Vopak fundamentals and operational procedures

Execute safely all relevant duties associated with being a Wharf Attendant

Ensure operational areas are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping

Ensure product quality system is maintained in-line with commingled specification Assist in truck loading/unloading operations with drivers as required

Monitor and act on terminal alarms in accordance with the alarm management procedure

Ensure adequate security is maintained at terminal and BLB

Maintenance

Ensure completion of all shift planned maintenance

Adequately respond to equipment fault/failure when they occur, record in maintenance management system

Prepare and or assist with equipment & assets for maintenance activities as required

Take a proactive approach to operational excellence/continuous improvement (outcome)

Customer Service

Ensure all terminal operations are performed in line with Vopak service delivery policies & procedures

Ensure accuracy of data & information supplied to internal & external customers is maintained and supplied in a timely manner

Assist with customer service enquiries are followed through to completion

Team work

Work with terminal Operations manager / Shift Leader to ensure adequate resources are in place and are aligned with terminal activities

Understand your role at the commencement of each shift

Assist with the development of new and existing team members in all aspects of terminal activities

Ensure there is clear communication and understanding of each task while on shift

Proactive in self-development and supporting terminal Operations manager and Shift Leaders in delivering training to new employees

Demonstrate a commitment to Safety and Environment

Demonstrate an ability to challenge unsafe acts and or conditions, know you are empowered to do so

Promote an inclusive, diverse and respectful workplace

Demonstrate active leadership & professionalism

Maintain confidentiality of Vopak’s operation and intellectual information

Qualifications

Trade qualifications, particularly Fitter and Turner and Mechanic are highly desirable.

Experience & Preferences

Relevant Petrochemical/Shipping industry experience would be beneficial

Previous experience in major hazard facility environment

Working in a Team Environment

Proven ability to identify and act on safety risks
