Basic Function
Responsible for assisting students with homework, and preparing supplemental material and activities for the students. Tutors will provide assignments, give timely feedback, and work with students individually to ensure their success.
Responsibilities
1. Identify strengths and weaknesses of assigned students, utilizing Pre-test as an evaluator tool.
2. Engages students in class work and activities, such as, reading, sentence construction, composition, grammar, and math problem solving.
3. Maintains a healthy, safe and clean learning environment in the classroom.
4. Supports and guides students by assigning and giving feedback on a range of homework.
5. Maintains accurate, complete and appropriate records and files.
6. Helps students develop critical and higher order thinking skills.
7. Provides individual support and attention to students as required through tutorials and individual meetings.
8. Evaluates students’ performance through class work, class participation, homework and tests.
9. Assist with setup, cleanup, meal service, and any other tasks as required by supervisors.
10. Prepare enrichment lesson, if applicable.
11. Enforce rules and policy, and implement disciplinary measures and procedures, as needed.
12. Perform tasks pertinent to achieving goals and objectives required by Youth Program grant, or as deemed necessary by Site Coordinator, Youth Program Director and/or Manager.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred. Some college and experience working with youth is required.
Experience
Previous experience working in with elementary, middle school and/or high school aged youth. Competent in teaching and assessment. Experience working with the refugee and immigrant community.Company Description
