UX Engineer

A leading space technology company is looking for a UX Engineer to craft cutting-edge applications that enable satellite control, space exploration, and interplanetary missions. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Irvine, CA, perfect for someone passionate about creating responsive, accessible, and user-centric interfaces for mission-critical operations.
Due to the sensitivity of the work, this position requires onsite presence five days a week in Irvine, CA.
You will need to be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
As a UX Engineer, you will:
Translate designs into production-ready React components.
Build and maintain a component library using Storybook.
Develop responsive, accessible interfaces with Tailwind CSS.
Contribute to the shadcn/ui component ecosystem.
Write and maintain end-to-end tests using Playwright or Cypress.
Create visual regression tests to ensure consistency.
Document component usage and guidelines for seamless integration.
Participate in UX reviews and user testing sessions.
What You’ll Need:
3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for complex applications.
A strong portfolio showcasing a user-centered design process.
Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
Basic experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
Experience designing for both desktop and mobile interfaces.
Nice to Haves:
Experience with Storybook for component documentation.
Expertise in Tailwind CSS and component libraries like shadcn/ui.
Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
Skills in dark mode interface design, data visualization, and error prevention in critical systems.
Experience with design systems and pattern libraries at scale.
Background in user research and usability testing.
