You'll work side-by-side with our design and construction team to manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and help bring early education centers to life. You'll gain exposure to commercial construction, risk management, subcontractor coordination, and the unique regulatory and compliance needs of childcare facilities.

What You'll Do

Project Support & Planning

Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, timelines, and milestones.

Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.

Help review architectural and engineering plans, shop drawings, and submittals.

Construction Administration

Track and document RFIs, change orders, and progress reports.

Participate in site visits and job walks to observe progress, safety, and compliance.

Support pre-construction planning including permitting, procurement, and estimating.

Collaboration & Meetings

Attend weekly construction update meetings and take detailed meeting notes.

Engage cross-functionally with operations, facilities, and design teams to understand project needs.

Help maintain logs of project documentation and assist in closing out completed projects.

Compliance & Quality Control

Learn about childcare-specific regulatory requirements and help ensure adherence across job sites.

Support inspections and documentation processes to meet licensing, safety, and environmental codes.

Collaborate on internal audits and reviews to ensure site readiness for licensing.

Learning Goals

Understand the full lifecycle of a commercial construction project-from design to turnover.

Gain familiarity with project management software and construction documentation systems.

Build problem-solving skills by supporting resolution of delays, conflicts, and design challenges.

Learn how safety, compliance, and sustainability intersect with fast-paced, multi-site rollouts.

Who We're Looking For

Students majoring in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (junior, senior, recent grads, or graduate students preferred).

Detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across teams and with vendors.

Strong organizational skills and interest in commercial interiors or vertical construction.

High level of professionalism and integrity with a strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Bluebeam or Smartsheets is a plus.

Internship Details & Application Process

Location: In-office at our corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota with some potential for local site visits

Duration: 12 weeks (June 2 - August 22)

Hours: 16-20 hours per week with a consistent schedule between 8am-4:30pm (must include Tuesdays 9am-3pm)

Pay: $20 per hour (undergraduate students) / $22 per hour (graduate students) - plus access to all our corporate office amenities, including a gym, wellness room, onsite café with espresso bar, and complimentary snacks and beverages with free onsite parking
