Full-Time Chef Position Available at The Pointe Malibu Recovery Center
The Pointe Malibu Recovery Center, a luxury treatment facility for clients recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, is seeking a talented and experienced full-time Chef. Our facility is renowned for providing a holistic and nurturing environment, and we believe that exceptional cuisine is a crucial part of our clients' recovery journey.
Position Overview: The Chef will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of high-quality meals that cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions, including vegan, paleo, kosher, vegetarian, pescatarian, and other healthy options. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, a strong commitment to health and wellness, and the ability to manage kitchen budgets and work effectively with outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Exhibit a positive attitude and develop and prepare nutritious and delicious meals tailored to individual client needs.
Create weekly menus that incorporate a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions.
Ensure all food is prepared in a safe, sanitary, and appealing manner.
Source high-quality, fresh ingredients, prioritizing organic and locally-sourced products.
Collaborate with our clinical team to accommodate specific dietary requirements related to clients' health and recovery plans.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Oversee kitchen inventory and manage food purchasing within budget.
Build and maintain positive relationships with outside vendors to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality ingredients.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Chef in a luxury setting, preferably within a wellness or treatment center.
Expertise in preparing diverse types of cuisine, including vegan, paleo, kosher, vegetarian, pescatarian, and other health-focused meals.
Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in budgeting and managing kitchen expenses.
Strong relationship-building skills with external vendors.
Positive attitude and a client-focused approach.
Certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.
Work Environment:
The position involves working in a residential treatment facility with exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biohazards.
The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
