Hunter Family Vision, a thriving private optometry practice with locations in Leawood and Prairie Village, KS, is seeking a dedicated full-time Optician to join our team. Optician experience is helpful, but not required. Excellent patient communication skills are essential.

Flexible Work Week: Enjoy a 4.5-day work week, with Fridays being a half day. One day at both offices we are open from 9 AM to 6 PM.

Competitive Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour, dependent on experience and negotiable.

Work with patients to solve their eyecare needs and explain their best eyewear options based on the doctor's recommendations
Provide high-end service with a personal touch to patients
Apply insurance and create patient optical and eye exam invoices
Capture custom, accurate eyewear measurements for patients
Dispense prescription eyewear to patients in our optical department
Check patients out and take payment for services and materials
Order prescription lenses from the lab and check jobs in when they arrive
Be dependable and punctual
Be patient and sincereRequired Skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
1-3 years previous Optician experience preferred
Fashion savvy and enjoy helping people in a customer setting.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Comfortable with sales and making transactions.
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
