Estimator – Commercial General Contractor

Progressive Contracting Co., Inc is a full service commercial General Contractor based in Sanford, NC with both private and public contracts ranging from $100k up to $10mm. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to execute the day to day estimating needs of our company.

Job Responsibilities:

· Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.

· Create and maintain excellent rapport with Architects, Owners, and Subcontractors.

· Analyze project specifications, drawings, and plans to prepare accurate cost estimates.

· Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.

· Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and detailed cost breakdowns.

· Assess labor, material, and equipment requirements.

· Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure alignment on cost and scope.

· Identify potential risks and provide value engineering recommendations.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and building codes.

Requirements:

· Experience – 5 years of estimating for commercial general construction company.

· Experience estimating various construction types (retail, new construction, renovation, multi family, historic, office buildings, etc…)

· Understanding of cost control and risk assessment.

· Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, industry pricing, and constructability.

· Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

· Strong time management and the ability to set/meet deadlines.

· Ability to create and understand construction scheduling.

· Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff
