DEPARTMENT: Fabrication JOB TITLE: 1st shift Tool & Die Maker REPORTS TO: Fabrication Manager SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 8 hr.
shifts (Mon-Fri) 7:00 am- 3:00 pm) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.
STARTING PAY: $18.65 to $29.40 per hour.
What You Will Be Responsible For: * Manufacture details to print, supporting engineering projects.
* Ability to program CNC equipment, and safely operate standard Tool Room equipment.
* Mark up drawings for "as built" conditions for Engineering updates.
* Manage new tooling projects through Tool Room to project deadlines.
* Support Communications between Engineering and Production * Assist Engineering, Production, and Set-up personnel with tooling set-ups and new tooling process verification.
* Work with Engineering and Maintenance for Hydraulic and Pneumatic requirements.
* Construction, Assembly, and Repair of fixtures, dies and jaws.
* Die maintenance as required (repair, sharpening & cleaning) & record repairs.
* Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required.
* Consistently keep Tool Room clean, organized, and hazard free Work Environment / Physical Demands: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
* The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What You Will Need: * Prefer Journeyman Tool & Die maker or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years of tool room experience) * Must be able to understand decimals, fractions, and tolerances.
* Able to read and understand inspection tools.
(Micrometers, calipers, comparator). * CNC programming.
* HS Diploma/GED * Must also pass a skills-based test.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
* Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
