Job Summary

The Sr. Firmware Engineer - DSP will be responsible for developing and owning new UPS features. You will create designs, do complex implementations, and perform technical reviews for innovative power electronics algorithms and features implemented in DSPs and other processors. The person most successful in this position will have deep hands-on experience in digital signal processing and digital power technologies. The Sr. DSP Engineer is expected to bring and actively share knowledge on his domain acting as technical lead and proactively help to build a stronger development team.

This position will review market requirements documents and create engineering requirement specifications, provide feedback to different functional teams, design the logic and algorithms code, debug the code, solve the test issue, and market issue. Influence and mentorship to a team of 30 global firmware engineers. This role will focus on Single Phase UPS products. The Sr DSP Engineer will review market requirements documents and create engineer requirement specifications, provide feedback to different function team, creates FW for all used DSP families, from regulation/control implementations, through implementation of required communication protocols, to HMI implementations.

Responsibilities:

Independently performs analysis and design of system architectures. And develops control algorithms using knowledge and experience related to proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controls and / or other feedback control techniques.

Act as a global team player throughout the organization as an effective DSP FW developer

Deliver high-quality C/C++ code in a real-time embedded environment

Create & review designs, doing complex implementations, and performing technical reviews with attention on achieving high power efficiency and performance in UPS products.

Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems

Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, test, and high-volume manufacturing.

Responsible for all aspects of firmware design and development for new innovative products and features using DSP processors.

Participates in sustaining activities for existing products including diagnosis and resolution of defects.

Interact with engineering, marketing, management, and project leads to assure that product development priorities are completed to schedule and budget while ensuring quality and product performance requirements are met

Resolve conflicts and negotiate within the team or other global teams to achieve the project objectives in a timely manner.

Come up with new ideas to create new IP responsible for keeping excellent, organized project records and documentation product development activities include design and development, design reviews, documentation, product verification, coordination with quality assurance, and field validation

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability.; Master's Degree in Digital Signal Processing, Electronics, or equivalent is a plus

7+ years related experience

Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability

Strong development skills in C/C++, Pattern Design

Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle

Fixed/Floating Point DSP Algorithm simulation, development, and implementation

Deep experience on TI C2000 DSP processors

Integration of multi-threaded, multi-processor architectures of DSP algorithms and control structures

Proficient in measurement methods, tools, spectral analysis, windowing

Algorithm optimization, calibration, linearization and tuning.

Electrical Modeling

Software in the loop, Processor in the loop and Hardware in the loop experience

Strong hands-on experience in digital control theory and digital signal processing

Possess good mathematical foundation, with strong research willingness and ability

Integration, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

Excellent team working skills, drive, self-motivation, and focus on results

Experience in configuration management tools such as version control, bug tracking, CICD

Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts
