Ardent is seeking a Senior Interoperability Tester to work in the Washington DC area
The Senior Interoperability Tester will lead and execute interoperability testing efforts to ensure seamless data exchange across systems, with a focus on healthcare, finance, or government environments. Leveraging your deep knowledge of industry protocols and standards, API testing tools, and automation frameworks, you will help drive quality and compliance in complex integration projects. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, interface engines, and cloud-based solutions in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead and perform interoperability testing activities to validate data exchange across diverse systems and platforms
Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for interoperability scenarios
Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, and Swagger to verify data integrity and compliance with standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, EDI, JSON, XML)
Collaborate with developers, integration engineers, and stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve interface and data exchange issues
Monitor and analyze system integrations to ensure adherence to functional, technical, and security requirements
Utilize automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Python, Java) to streamline testing processes and increase coverage
Participate in Agile development teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Document test results, defect reports, and technical findings in a clear and organized manner
Support continuous integration and deployment efforts by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Stay current with emerging interoperability standards, tools, and best practices to enhance testing methodologies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of software QA or system integration testing experience
3+ years of experience specifically focused on interoperability testing
Deep knowledge of data exchange protocols and standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, EDI, JSON, XML)
Strong experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, Swagger)
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Java, Selenium, JMeter)
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
Experience in healthcare, finance, or government environments
Knowledge of interface engines or middleware (e.g., Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf)
Exposure to cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Industry certifications in interoperability or quality assurance
