Tractor/Trailer Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Semi-Trailer and Tractor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining semi-trailers and performing preventative tractor maintenance and light tractor repairs. Ensuring all equipment meets safety and performance standards.

Duties

Perform FHWA annual inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on semi-trailers and tractors.

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and repair manuals.

Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and efficiency.

Repair or replace damaged trailer parts, such as axles, tires, brakes, lights, and doors.

Weld and fabricate components when necessary.

Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Follow all safety procedures, FMSCA regulations and company policies.

Interact with drivers, operations and vendors in professional manner.

Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to management immediately.

Follow all company safety policies and FMCSA regulations.

Secondary Duties

Assist other mechanics in a variety of tasks related to maintaining PDS fleet as needed. Some duties may include, but are not limited to, changing tires, inspecting and adjusting breaks, routine maintenance, annual inspections, interior issues, and heating and cooling issues, as needed

Qualifications

· Valid CDL preferred

· Minimum 1-3 years related work experience, certification(s) appreciated

Knowledge of air brake systems, electrical wiring, and suspension systems.

Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical schematics.

Strong attention to repair detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
