Manufacturing Engineer and Lean Manager

The role is 100% on-site and reports directly into the Plant Manager.

Core Duties:
Responsible for all industrial engineering and lean activities at the facility.
Develop and execute strategies for assembly processes, Industry 4.0, investments, industrial footprint layout, new product development (NPD), and more.
Manage the budget for industrial projects and CapEx plans for operations, including industrial expansion, process improvements, and new technology introduction.
Ensure the competence development and long-term structure of the industrial engineering team.
Collaborate with the technology organization to embed manufacturing requirements and design-for-assembly in strategic product and technology portfolios and NPD processes.
Capture, share, and reuse best practices related to industrial engineering processes and technologies.
Focus on competitive quality, delivery, and cost deliverables in new product and process development.
Ensure facility and assembly equipment and tooling are functional and optimized to support organizational strategies.
Support lean philosophy and coach continuous improvement (CI) activities such as Kaizen and problem-solving.
Coordinate the development of CI roadmaps with the site management team.
Develop lean mindset and knowledge through CI activities.
Must Haves:
Industrial/production engineering background
Experience in logistics or automotive manufacturing, heavy industrial, CAPEX
New product development experience
Lean manufacturing expertise
Project management skills
Nice to Haves:
Understanding of Kaizen and LEAN principles
Experience with electrical and mechanical assembly processes

Team Size: Approximately 5 people, including industrial engineers and production managers
Compensation:
Salary: $160K - $200K (ideally not $200K)
Annual bonus: 10%, paid out in April, 60/40 split (individual/company targets)
Relocation: Tailored to needs, lump sum, house hunting trip for two, etc.
Additional Information:
The plant is new to LEAN, so this person needs to bring in LEAN concepts.
The goal is to get a shortlist of candidates within the next couple of weeks.
