Overview:
Reviews new referrals and consult requests with the sarcoma nurse navigator/attendings
Informs prior authorization team of new referrals and provides documents needed for verification of insurance coverage
Gathers external records, imaging, and pathology for referred and co-managed patients
Triages and tracks status of patient referrals, second opinions, “speak with the team” requests, and consults
Assists with scheduling appointments and scans for new and established patients
Assists with transferring imaging and records to outside institutions for established patients
Coordinates follow up of patients from outside institutions treated at NCH
Assists with quality improvement projects within the sarcoma program
Performs other administrative/provider support duties as assigned

Assists families in determining needed resources and services through a screening and triage process.
Answers questions and concerns of families and provides service referrals and scheduling.
Gathers referral and pre-admission information and completes all pre-admission data entry.
Identifies emergent or complex cases and seeks clinical review prior to finalizing the referral.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient resource and scheduling services.
Utilize Electronic Medical Record and Scheduling software to assess the demand for services and the ability of current service capacities to meet the community’s needs.
Maintains confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with agency policy.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience, required.
Skills:
Strong skills in customer service, process improvement, data entry, and advanced computer skills, required.
Proficiency with EPIC, preferred.
Experience:
Customer service or other relevant experience, required.
