Responsibilities

Join our dedicated team at PrairieCare as a Seasonal Therapist and enjoy summers off and start this fall!

As a therapist you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating psychosocial services for our patients. You will provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services to patients and their families, with the goal of enhancing their overall functioning and well-being. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing and growth. This role is seasonal, so you can have all the benefits of being a 1.0 FTE employee but have the beautiful MN summers off!

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Therapeutic Services: Deliver group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy to assigned patients, which may include children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health challenges.

Care Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external providers to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care for patients, facilitating communication and support across the treatment spectrum.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Contribute your unique expertise in family systems and/or social work theory to the interdisciplinary team, enhancing the overall treatment approach.

Cultural Competence: Be oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care to effectively meet the diverse needs of patients.

Flexible Availability: May occasionally need to work an evening or weekend.

Qualifications

Master’s degree and licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Psychologist (LP).

Two years previous mental health experience strongly preferred

Experience in intensive psychiatric healthcare settings preferred

Experience using electronic health records preferred

Ability to maintain required malpractice insurance

Have computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word

Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in written and verbal form

Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks

Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations

Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances

After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.

PRN therapists work a minimum of 4 shifts per month that may include some weekend and early evening hours. Additional shifts can be added to schedule if requested and if shifts are available. PRNs cover for both planned and unplanned staff absences

Pay range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 depending on education and experience.
