Team Leader, Manufacturing
Second Shift Schedule is typically between 1pm and 1130pm or 2pm and 1230am, or 4pm and 230am.
Works a 4/10 schedule but may be asked to work a 5/8 schedule as needed.
Leads and supports the daily activities of a Team of 4-15 employees, in a production/packaging area to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Coordinates production sequences to maximize productivity. Monitors production activity, identifies process problems, troubleshoots causes and develops solutions. Suggests improvements to improve efficiency or safety. Delivers training to Team members and on-boards new staff. This is a working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a team.
Leads and assists the assigned team with Sets up, adjusts, repairs, maintenance and operation of packaging/production and related equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances. Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products. Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
Leads and assists with preflight inspections of all packaging equipment, performs repairs and preventative maintenance on packaging/production equipment, sanitizes all packaging/production equipment, tools and work areas.
Ensures all Team members receive timely rest and meal(lunch) breaks, facilitated by the rotation of staff to provide relief. Is also responsible for providing relief to Team members and will fill in for absences/leaves of absence and scheduled off days and vacations.
Is the designated Trainer for the team, providing all team members with equipment and task specific training, training on production/packaging related processes, and facilitates daily huddles/tailgate meetings
Prepares and maintains required records of production/packaging activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues. Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years' work experience operating advanced packaging equipment/robotics using HMI/PLC interfaces
1+ years' work experience in a leadership role, providing direction, guidance and training to a team.
1+ years' work experience providing hands on training of advanced packaging/production equipment and associated work processes to new team members and ongoing refresher training; leading huddles/tailgate meetings to assigned teams.
Thorough knowledge of the team processes, to include the ability to operate the equipment assigned to the team.
Prior demonstrated experience conducting autonomous maintenance on packaging equipment.
Prior demonstrated experience performing sanitation on packaging equipment, tools and work areas.
Ability to comfortably utilize various technology, to include HMI interfaces, tablets, desktops and associated software to support packaging and organizational needs (Microsoft Office, MS Teams, OEE tracking, etc)
Mechanically inclined
Self-directed with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Ability to stand continuously during an 8 - 10-hour shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and mover up to 50lbs continuously during an 8 - 10 hour shift.
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend basic English Preferred Skills
AA Degree in related field
