Practice setting: outpatient
Trauma level 1
Will need to do outpatient procedures
Procedures per day: 13-15 Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of Residency through the American Board of Internal Medicine, Subspecialty of Gastroenterology
Active PA License or IMLC
Must be Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology
BLS
Required Skills: Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), injection of varices, With PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)), Esophageal dilatation/manometry, Esophageal manometry interpretation, Small Bowel biopsy, Lower GI endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy (flexible, rigid), Colonoscopy (biopsy, excision of polyp)
Preferred Skills: ERCP (diagnostic, therapeutic), Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), Liver biopsy
Procedures required/procedures per day: EGDs, Colonoscopies, EGD with Dilatations, Peg placement and change, All the standard GI procedures
Prefer an advanced provider to do ERCP EMR
