Job Description
Job purpose
Perform troubleshooting of existing equipment, assist with new equipment/upgrade installation and validation, design, produce and evaluate performance of proof-of-concepts and assemble Engineering design solutions to ensure peak performance of Slitting & Packaging equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure peak operation of equipment through troubleshooting, executing repairs within skillset and escalating the proper path forward to the Maintenance dept. to drive issues to resolution
Execute checklists to confirm proper equipment/hardware used, reject subpar quality work and resubmit Work Order to drive to resolution
Track and follow-up with Band-Aid solutions until resolved with permanent countermeasure
Ensure equipment design standards are consistently upheld and schedule deviation corrections through Maintenance and Supervisor
Ensure ancillary equipment functionality, provide quantities and/or execute reorder process, schedule and monitor parts replacement progress with Maintenance
Assist in CAR resolution by brainstorming, designing, fabricating, proving results and provide technical reporting on solutions
Update/Populate DNP Troubleshooting Guide
Fabrication, Assembly, installation and performance tracking of Engineering upgrades and proof-of-concepts for Slitting and Packaging Departments
Execute 3D printing & assembly of process parts and maintain proper inventory levels
Generate CAD drawings as requested for various projects
Identify, analyze and review machine and process failure data to determine root cause and drive to resolution
Identify, communicate and assist in process improvement/kaizen activities
Provide mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or other assistance to equipment issues
Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instrument
Prepare shift reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Preferred: Associate degree in technical field or equivalent experience
Must be able to work from blueprints, manufacturer specifications, and wiring diagrams
Ability to use common precision measurement gages, multimeters, basic machine shop equipment
Technical knowledge of automated production machine equipment and maintenance required

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements
Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required) in any manufacturing area.

Compensation/Benefits:
The hiring range for this position is $28 - $30 per hour. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
