Description
GAI is seeking an entry level engineer with a completed Bachelor's degree from an ABET Accredited Civil Engineering Program, to work in our Pennsylvania Bridge Group, a Business Sector of our Transportation Business Unit. This position will be based out of our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office in Homestead.
Job Duties:
Design and detailing of transportation structures including bridges, sign structures, culverts, noise walls, and retaining walls.
Calculation of quantities and cost estimates.
Develop proficiency in MicroStation and other engineering software.
Collaborate with other professionals.
Expectations and Education:
Performs work under direct supervision.
Handles basic problems and receives support on more complex issues from higher-level staff.
Possesses beginning knowledge of the subject matter.
Completed Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and pass the FE exam within one year.
Reports to and is mentored by an engineering manager.

Possesses foundational engineering concepts through undergraduate-level education.
Acquires basic knowledge and develops basic skills through mentored experience.
Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks.
Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience.

Technical Responsibilities
Collects data and gathers information or documents.
Participates in laboratory testing and field investigations.
Performs basic computations or analysis.

Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
No managerial responsibilities at this level.
Management Responsibility
Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments.
Attains mentored experience from a licensed engineer.
Communication Skills
Possesses basic oral and written communication skills. Identifies and acknowledges principles of teamwork and leadership.
Interacts primarily with internal project team members.
