ONLY CURRENT DUNWOODY STUDENT MAY APPLY

Position Title: VA Work Study Student

Approximate Hours per Week: 18- 25

Wage: $15.97

Primary Duties:

Assist students who use the Veteran and Military Center and with general inquiries about veteran education benefits via phone, email, and in person

Staff and maintain the Veteran and Military Center during posted hours

Coordinate trainings and workshops for our Veteran and active Military students

Post and help create fliers for Veteran and active Military student activities on campus

Coordinate communication to all Veteran and active Military students

Work at open houses, orientations and student events as designated Veteran and active Military point of contact

Collect, compile, and track Veteran and Military Center usage and adjust hours based on student needs

Serve as a mentor while providing support for new and continuing students receiving veteran educational benefits

Assist, update, and maintain accurate information on the Dunwoody College of Technology Veteran and Military Student website

General office duties as it relates to supporting our students receiving veteran educational benefits Qualifications

Excellent communications skills and customer service skills with the ability to motivate others and encourage participation

High cultural competency and respect/sensitivity to all students, colleagues and visitors

Basic understanding of VA education benefits and a working familiarity with the offices of Dunwoody College of Technology and their responsibilities

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment

Willingness and ability to follow confidentially guidelines

Strong self-direction, motivation, and initiative

Computer skills, primarily Microsoft Office Suite

Work Study Eligible through the Veteran Affairs Work Study Program:

At least to full time student enrollment
