We are seeking a reliable Assistant Construction Project Manager with 1+ years of experience in the construction of manufacturing facilities for our life sciences client. The incumbent will support multiple Construction Project Managers with organizing, communicating, and overseeing construction procedures and ensure that they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The Assistance Construction PM must be well-versed in all aspects of construction policies and procedures and assist in managing a team of professionals of varying disciplines to achieve the expected project outcomes.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Participate in the planning, management, and coordination of all aspects of the construction process.
Assist with negotiating terms of agreements, drafting contracts and obtaining permits and licenses.
Take ownership of schedule management.
Assist with the coordination and selection of vendors and professionals with different disciplines.
Assist with managing the change-order process and impact on project budgets.
Stay abreast of milestones and keep the project manager informed of changes that may impact the project schedule.
Develop system for maintaining project tracking tools and reporting presentations.
Receive and review submittals, RFIs, pay applications, tenant improvement reimbursements, and responses.
Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs to correlate with the project schedule and the demands of the project.
Keeps up to date on project changes & work progress, especially the items that could delay a project or cause a loss, if installed incorrectly.

Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or other business management / controls degree/experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
Familiarity with construction project management software, preferably Smartsheets.
Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel Pivot Tables and PowerPoint
Previous Life science, Healthcare, Industrial, or University construction experience a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate using multiple forms of communication.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner with minimal oversight.
Ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
Ability to travel to other client sites (US or international), if necessary.
Ability to work on weekends, if necessary.
