Job Title: Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift

Location: Chino, CA

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30pm (will rotate to 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) for two weeks at a time every 9 to 11 weeks)

Pay Range: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour

Job Duties:

Works on tools and dies as needed to maintain them in a production environment.

Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.

Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.

Experience with big progressive, and transfer dies for Aluminum and steel material experience.

Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or sketches.

Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.

Requests heat treating of tools or parts.

Examines standard or previously used ides, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.

Works with apprentices and teaches them the fundamentals of tool and die making.

Ensures all safety items are in place before operation of Tool Room machines and equipment are started.

All other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Automotive or Metal Stamping Industry Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certificate from college, technical school, or apprenticeship program is desired but not necessary.
