Structural Autocad / REVIT Designer

Thompson Engineering is looking for a structural Autocad \/ REVIT Designer to join our team.

The Structural Designer I & II is an entry level position up through 5 years of professional work experience.

The Designer works closely with Structural Engineers and Architects to perform structural drafting assignments in either Autocad or REVIT.

The position requires learning Thompson Engineering's drafting standards and procedures for projects involving buildings, coastal piers and bulkheads, industrial support structures, deep foundations, and other similar structures.

The Designer should be well organized, have good verbal communication and problem-solving skills, and have a strong aptitude for follow-through.

<\/span p>\n Essential Functions of the Position<\/span strong span p>\n \n * Capable of adhering to existing drafting standards and utilizing them properly span li>\n * Knowledgeable in the operation of Autocad and REVIT software span li>\n * Able to effectively work both independently and as a part of a larger team, on multiple, short-duration assignments or on single, large, multi-discipline projects span li>\n * Able to manage the pressures associated with fast-paced environments, critical design tolerances, and tight schedules span li>\n * Able to adapt his\/her schedule to meet needs as they arise (i.e., able to occasionally come in early or stay late to respond to a client's last-minute request) span li>\n * Provide input to the engineer for the resolution of queries from clients or third parties span li>\n * Must follow company policies and procedures regarding safety and quality span li>\n * Make occasional field site visits to collect existing structure data and\/or dimensions span li>\n<\/ul>\n Minimum Requirements<\/span strong span p>\n \n * Associates Degree in CAD\/Drafting or equivalent preferred, and 0 - 5 years' experience in structural drafting of commercial and\/or industrial projects span li>\n * Must have practicable and verifiable knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT software span li>\n * Capable of adhering to existing Drafting\/Quality standards and utilizing them properly span li>\n * The ability to make geometric mathematical computations accurately span li>\n * The ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing span li>\n<\/ul>\n Physical Requirements<\/span strong span p>\n \n * Must be willing to work overtime as needed by the department needs.

We estimate 40 hours per week with limited overtime expected.
