Ensures regulatory compliance with Tellus’s regulated assets. Manages and coordinates all driver technologies to ensure that they are installed and working properly. Maintains external platforms to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations. Has a clear understanding of Tellus’s freight-carrying requirements and capabilities. Is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to leadership on all regulatory compliance matters. Supports the Sales, Service, and Parts departments by profitably managing pickup and delivery of goods. Acts as the centralized point of contact for scheduling all transportation requests received from Sales Managers, Service Managers, and Parts Managers.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, standardization, and management of DOT Compliance Programs, including CMV Files, DOT Driver Qualification Files, DOT Drug/Alcohol Programs, Vehicle Inspections, Hours of Service, etc.
Develop and implement standardized processes for Driver Background Checks, Pre-Employment Medical Screening & DOT Physicals, Previous Employer Release of Information, etc. in coordination & conjunction with HR, Risk Management, and Operations
Prepare and submit required Federal and State DOT Trucking Registrations, Licensing, Compliance Reports, etc.
Provide support for field tracking of compliance for Hours of Service and Daily Vehicle Inspection (DVIR) regulations through electronic monitoring systems including ELDs. This includes working with the locations to develop the correct routines, which are then implemented to manage this data.
Assist with conducting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items, and leverage learning across the organization for all vehicle accidents involving Company personnel and/or equipment.
Work with the Operations Team to implement and manage detailed, proactive systems to ensure compliance with Federal and State DOT Trucking regulations and Company requirements, with a strong emphasis on a Management Systems approach to compliance.
Conduct Trucking & Transportation applicability determinations, compliance audits, and risk assessments to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Regulatory and Company requirements at each of Tellus’s locations.
Review pending and upcoming changes to Federal & State DOT Trucking regulations to ensure the Company is prepared for future compliance requirements. Develop and communicate impact summaries of future regulatory changes to Leadership and Operations.
Pursue industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence in Incident Prevention and DOT Trucking Compliance.
Work with Operational Teams to implement and manage a proactive, behavior-based approach to safe driving, with a strong emphasis on Personal Responsibility, Incident Prevention, and a Management Systems approach to compliance.
Ensure that the required technologies are installed in all assets and are working properly.
Develop logistics strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs. Optimize vehicle assets to improve routing and capacity, ensuring timely pickup and deliveries.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in a technical field.
5-7 years of experience in DOT compliance or enforcement, fleet safety systems management and capability development, data analysis, and ongoing program management
3+ years prior transportation/dispatch experience in a supervisory capacity
