First State Bank and Trust is currently seeking a Deposit Operations Specialist to join our team. As a Deposit Operations Specialist, you'll be an essential part of our team. This position's responsibilities include processing and posting of deposit transactions, exception items, adjustments and returns, along with a variety of other routine duties, in accordance with established procedures. The Deposit Operations Department is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the bank.

Essential Job Functions:

Review and process overdraft items, Fed chargeback items, non-post items, stop payment suspects, and government notices of reclamation; return unauthorized, fraudulent and erroneous items within required timeframes.

Review and process ACH items, ensuring that ACH returns and corrections are appropriately processed.

Review of incoming and outgoing wire transfers to assure all required documentation and approval, if applicable, is present in accordance with established procedures.

Process proof adjustments and review and submit mobile deposits.

Submit check adjustment requests to the Fed.

Manage debit card duties including maintenance, fraud, limit changes, and instant issue

Process daily account maintenance requests

Process foreign items and returned mail

Provide high quality support to customers and Bank personnel for questions regarding account activity, statements, core processing software, etc.

Answer internal phone calls and emails to assist other employees with Deposit Operations related inquiries and requests.

Perform all work in accordance with established processing procedures.

Ensure operational integrity through compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations.

Assist with other departmental duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Prior bank experience preferred.

Customer resolution skills

Team player

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to multi-task.
