Job Description
Summary of the position: The Juvenile Sex Offender Therapist is responsible for the management of an assigned juvenile caseload of clientele for individual, family and group therapy in a residential setting. This will be done as a member of and in coordination with the Treatment Team by performing the following duties. This position requires excellent oral and written communication as well as professional interactions with clients, families and school personnel.

Family/Group/Individual Therapy
Ability to manage a caseload and the competing demands among clients.
Complete documentation requirements as required.
Provide service within the framework of the individuals Treatment Plan.
Scheduling therapy session in a timely manner.
Ensuring that needed materials (handouts) are available for therapy sessions.
Develop a weekly schedule with client names/dates/times of scheduled sessions to be distributed to supervisor on a weekly basis.
Consulting regularly with family members regarding case status.
Documentation
Complete ongoing psychotherapy session summaries for all youth in assigned groups in the electronic record.
Create the goal/objectives on the treatment plan for each member of assigned groups.
Documentation meets defined regulatory and billable standards.
All documentation is completed within clearly established time frames.
Complete progress notes on all therapy sessions (individual, group, family) within 24 hours of the session.
Utilize electronic health record
Meetings and Collaboration
Participate in clinical supervision meetings.
Submit cases during staffings for ongoing peer review and clinical consultation.
Attend meetings of assigned students as needed.
Attend IEP meetings as scheduled.
Interact with families, students and school district personnel in a professional and responsive manner.
Participate in utilization review meetings.
Other
Participate in organizational committees
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Lifting Requirements
Must be able to perform safety procedures as needed. Procedures may require lifting. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements
Must pass physical and be able to physically restrain youth when necessary.
Work Location: This position is required to work at various locations, both inside and outside, on school grounds.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Master’s Degree in a human services field
Licensure
Preferred, Certification Sex Offender Treatment Specialist or Juvenile Sexual Offending Counselor Certification Required.
Years of Experience
One year providing child/adolescent therapy preferred
Computer Experience
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
Other
Excellent writing skills, excellent communication skills, ability to maintain a positive public appearance, ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
