For ING to achieve its strategic and commercial goals, it is essential that our Hubs strategy & workforce composition allows us to maximize our use of scarce resources in a competitive landscape and helps us to standardize and achieve faster time-to-market.

Therefore, we would like to announce that ING Hubs BV is in the process of establishing a new branch in Spain, Madrid. This provides a great opportunity to expand Hubs’ footprint and support ING’s scalable, sizeable and sustainable Tech and Ops Strategy. The new branch will be located in Madrid and will commence with Tech capabilities.

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Human Resources to lead the establishment of the HR function in this new branch. This role will be responsible for building the HR team, recruiting highly-skilled talents, setting up policies, ensuring compliance and fostering a strong company culture and engagement. You are part of the local Management Team reporting hierarchically to the Head of ING Hubs Spain, and functionally to Head of HR ING Hubs.

1.Roles and Responsibilities

Set up and implement HR policies, procedures and tools aligned with global guidelines and local labour laws

Developing and executing a hiring strategy to recruit, onboard and retain top talent

Establish relationships with local talent sources (universities, recruiters, job platforms) to attract candidates

Partner with leadership to define workforce needs and succession planning

Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership on people related matters

Lead employee engagement initiatives to create a positive work environment

Ensure compliance with local labour laws, employment regulations and workplace safety standards

Establish learning and development programmers to support career growth and skill enhancement aligned with local and global partners

Creating a high-performing HR team and ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality and predictable HR services

Ensuring effective HR processes, driving automation and improving data quality

Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups and partners

Keeping up with current and possible future HR policies, practices, and trends in the organization, with the competition, and in the marketplace

Organizational Savvy - Maneuvers comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Gives others advice on how to operate effectively and brings initiatives to the attention of those who can act as champions and advocates

3. Job requirements

A strong educational background, including a Bachelor of Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Additionally, a master's degree will be welcomed

Five plus (5+) years’ in HR leadership roles, preferably setting up new teams or expansion projects

Knowledge of local employment legislation and regulations

Deep understanding of the HR target operating model; experience in talent acquisition, employer branding, organizational engagement, employee engagement and culture building

Proven expertise in handling Reward related people topics

Proven experience in strategic people projects with high impact

Affinity with numbers and data and have a good understanding on how data analysis and reporting supports the people agenda

Ability to thrive in fast pace, multi-cultural and matrix environment

Communicates effectively by having excellent interpersonal skills with a clear demonstration of influencing and challenging business leaders

Experience in a tech/start-up environment is a plus

Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish

This position will be based in Madrid, Spain
