The successful person will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. As a 501(c)(6) entity, the Controller will ensure compliance with regulations specific to membership-based organizations, including tax filings. This role will also be instrumental in executing strategic goals and participating in strategic planning to advance the organizationâ s mission. Essential Functions

•Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and revenue recognition, with a focus on membership dues and other revenue streams.

•Prepare monthly financial statements, assist with quarterly and year-end BOD reporting, as well as other financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.

•Perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations, ensuring timely reporting and accurate account balances.

•Prepare and compile financial information for the annual financial audit and support external auditors.

•Prepare documentation for federal tax returns and coordinate with external tax preparers, ensuring compliance with 501(c)(6) regulations, including unrelated business income.

•Support the CFO in developing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans that align with strategic objectives.

•Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support organizational decisions and improve financial performance.

•Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and financial investments, making recommendations for optimization.

•Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a team culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

•Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency and risk management.

•Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and improve organizational financial health.

•Actively participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of financial strategies that support the organizationâ s mission and goals.

member dues reporting.

Required Education & Experience

•Bachelorâ s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

•Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.

•Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in

public accounting.

•Experience with nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred, particularly

with 501(c)(6) entities.

•Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools (such as

GP MS Dynamics, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or equivalent).
