Job Description
As a mechanical Test Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for assisting the Test Manager in the test set-up, conducting engineering tests, and maintaining test equipment and components in the department.
Duties:
Set-up and operation of test equipment including computers, sensors, hydraulic, mechanical/electrical assemblies, electrical wiring and other measuring devices.
Execute tests per engineering test plan with minimal supervision.
Set-up test samples and test fixtures.
Perform cyclic/ static testing and other homologation tests.
Knowledge and use of software, such as MS Word or Excel, to collect and maintain complete and accurate date tracking for watch test sample and machine.
Work with Engineering to debug routine problems in the assembly of the test sample.
Ability to read blueprints to build accurate prototypes, suggesting modification as needed
Work to troubleshoot problems before product sending to the customer
Experience with shop hand tools as required to complete the daily tasks.
Order and keep track of tools, materials, and supplies for prototypes and testing.
Education / Job Related Requirements:
BA/BS Degree is required
Minimum 3 years of applicable work experience.
Must be able to interpret technical and engineering dealings, use appropriate tools, monitor tests and report results
Prior testing experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software are preferred
Hand-on experience with electro-/hydro-mechanical test environment and knowledge of the hydraulic liftgates and power systems or heavy mechanical equipment a plus
Must be able to lift per OSHA requirement on a regular basis
Must be able read, speak, and write English
