JOB TITLE: Patient Access Representative- Centralized Scheduler

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Serves as primary contact for scheduling needs of the Center for Orthopaedics

SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Office Manager

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Answers all incoming calls to the scheduling department. Schedules appointments as requested by patients or based on incoming referral from another provider.

Confirms that all patient demographic data is correct and screens patient insurance data for billing purposes. Monitors patient accounts for credit status of delinquent accounts prior to scheduling appointment.

Works closely with all CFO physicians to ensure that patients are scheduled appropriately and accurately according to each physicians' preferences.

Ensures that patients are given accurate information prior to their appointment regarding necessary information required.

Advise patients of delinquent or outstanding balances prior to scheduling appointment.

Reschedules patients when necessary.

Works closely with the insurance verification specialist to ensure that all patients scheduled have insurance that we are in network with or in some cases that we have an out of network authorization.

Obtain out of network authorizations if necessary for new patients.

Assists callers in problem solving and finding the correct person to resolve any issues they may have other than appointment needs.

Must have a knowledge of the different insurance carriers.

Full-time
