CPH has an opening in our Sanford, Florida office location for the following position:
Construction Inspector – QC/QA Lead with 5 plus years of field and office experience.
Duties Include
Fulfilling the responsibilities of a Construction Inspector – QC/QA Lead as part of the project management team to ensure conformance with the project scope, contracts, schedules, and change orders.
Works closely and diligently with Project Manager and Contractor representatives to achieve project goals/requirements and employs standard protocol for communication with and between team members.
Research, interpretation, and implementation of company and client requirements, standards, and templates.
Effectively communicates with design team and Project Manager to gain an understanding of design intent.
Proactively applies knowledge of codes and all types of building systems (architectural, civil, structural, etc.) to projects.
Monitors Owner and/or Contractor directed requests for changes that fall outside of the basic services agreement; notifies PM of any potential additional services.
Reviews and manages Requests for Information (RFI) and submittals and maintains current documents using CPH's standard construction documents.
Checks submittals (i.e., shop drawings and product data) to determine conformance with project contract documents, design intent as well as CPH standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
Performs periodic/daily site visits, observations, and inspections and prepares field reports.
Participates in team meetings and construction progress meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.
Verifies implementation and conformance of construction change directives, substitutions, time delays, and payment applications in accordance with contract and project requirements.
Verifies conformance of project quality control plan.
Weekly coordination with the Project Manager regarding project/program performance with respect to quality, status, schedule, and budget.
Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will be a professional with 5 plus years’ experience in construction engineering inspection in areas of land development, utility, roadway, and building construction.
Must be self-motivated, capable of reviewing and understanding construction documents, and have knowledge and experience in civil and architectural/building design.
Must possess problem-solving skills and have strong organizational and communication skills.
Desired Education and Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or similar
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Construction field, Construction Inspector or Field Engineer.
