Syght is a fast-growing, dynamic, US-based high-tech startup, specializing in detection of concealed contraband on moving targets at a distance. Applications will detect weapons and other objects of interest using artificially intelligent algorithms and machine learning.

Candidates must be able to come to the Boulder, CO office on a regular basis. We cannot provide relocation or visa assistance at this time.

Position Objective:

Syght is looking for a motivated and creative mechanical engineer to drive the design and implementation of the next generation of millimeter wave security systems. The successful candidate thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and produces innovative and demonstrably effective solutions. Designs must be based on a data-driven approach, leveraging simulation and iteration.

Responsibilities:

· Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, and implement)

· Model and simulate dynamic responses to optimize designs and increase reliability

· Implement and validate all designs in a fast paced, collaborative development environment

· Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems

· Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety

· Prepare product reports and documentation

Requirements:

· Proficient with FEA modeling tools (SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys)

· Experience with 3D modeling/engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., SolidWorks)

· Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM)

· Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.

· Highly organized in managing and executing multiple simultaneous projects and tasks

· Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner

· MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Ideal Experience:

· Prior experience in RF or mm wave mechanical designs

· Prior experience in kinematic designs for optical systems

· Demonstrated experience in product design from “cradle to grave”

· Certifications or experience in design for manufacturing mechanical engineering techniques for high volume production processes
