We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Inventory Planner & Buyer to manage inventory levels and procurement processes to ensure optimal stock availability and cost efficiency. This role involves forecasting demand, purchasing inventory, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing stock levels to support business operations. Key Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Management

Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.

Develop inventory strategies to balance supply and demand, considering lead times, seasonality, and sales trends.

Establish and maintain reorder points and safety stock levels based on data-driven insights.

Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure stock availability aligns with business needs.

Identify and mitigate risks related to stockouts, overstocking, and obsolescence.

Purchasing & Procurement

Source, negotiate, and purchase inventory from suppliers to meet demand requirements at optimal cost.

Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and quality standards.

Evaluate supplier performance based on pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.

Manage purchase orders (POs), track shipments, and resolve any supply chain disruptions.

Work with finance and accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers.

Forecasting & Demand Planning

Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer demand to develop accurate inventory forecasts.

Work with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotions, new product launches, and seasonal fluctuations into inventory planning.

Adjust forecasts and procurement strategies based on real-time data and changing business needs.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Monitor key inventory KPIs (e.g., inventory turnover, fill rate, stock aging, purchase cost variance) and generate performance reports.

Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Utilize data analytics tools to improve inventory planning and procurement decision-making.

Process Improvement & Optimization

Identify inefficiencies in inventory and purchasing processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Optimize procurement processes to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.

Leverage technology, automation, and best practices to streamline inventory and purchasing operations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.

years of experience in inventory planning, procurement, or supply chain management.

Experience working with ERP systems, inventory management software, and purchasing tools.

Technical & Analytical Skills

Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Experience with demand planning tools and procurement software.

Ability to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights for purchasing and inventory decisions.

Soft Skills

Strong negotiation and relationship management skills for supplier interactions.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized in managing multiple priorities.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in [Industry-Specific Experience, e.g., Retail, Manufacturing, E-commerce, FMCG].

Knowledge of supply chain optimization, cost-saving strategies, and lean inventory management.

Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or other data visualization tools is a plus.
