We are looking for a Technical Writer to help to create documentation (getting started, quick starts, how-to, and reference docs) for container solutions designed to accommodate various workloads, architectures, and business needs, with a specific focus on a Kubernetes service that you can use to deploy and manage containerized applications and other container services.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Content writing team and Program Managers to identify content to focus on based on priority needs.
• Work with stakeholders who use the product to gather information and turn it into customer ready content.
• Create new articles and update existing articles to reflect the latest features and functionality, in support of their needs.
• Author the documentation to conform to content patterns and test/validate and configurations that will be published. This will entail spinning up environments to walk through and test steps and procedures to catch and work through issues.
• Respond to reviewer feedback and incorporate feedback as needed.
• Deliver documentation according to specifications and priorities provided by team
• Use content team tools, process, style guide and publishing guidelines to deliver high quality documentation. Tools GitHub, Markdown language, and DevOps.
Skills required:
• 3-5 years of technical writing experience and/or experience creating technical, customer-facing content, to an IT pro, DevOps, and developer audience
• Experience writing about Containers such as Kubernetes Services (AKS), Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Docker Enterprise, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Programming knowledge and the ability to review/test code is preferred.
• Strong curiosity, technical depth, and problem-solving skills to dive into containers content.
• Experience or familiarity with markdown and GitHub is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, English, Computer Science or related field preferred. Work related experience may substitute for degree.
