CONTROLLER

NJ Based owner/manager/developer of real estate across the country is seeking a controller for its Essex County office.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Take on all aspects of financial management and accounting, including property accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, as well as development of internal controls.

Will be responsible for oversight of financial processes, and clerical staff.

Manage the accounting and reporting for real estate holdings, property management, and operating businesses.

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, AIR, cash management, and recording of operations via state of the art real estate management software and QuickBooks.

Monitor cash accounts and preparation of bank recs.

Collaborate with external accountants for year-end closings and provide them with the information needed for them to prepare annual tax returns.

Perform corporate and real property portfolio budgeting and YTD performance analysis.

Perform financial analysis / credit analysis.

REQUIREMENTS:

MS i accounting degree

CPA a plus

7+ years' experience in relevant accounting roles. Property management or related real estate field a plus.

QuickBooks experience necessary

IBS real estate software a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent organizational skills
