Job Description
We are in search of a Controller to join our team in San Diego, California. The Controller will be a key figure in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and leading the accounting team. The individual will be responsible for enforcing internal controls across all business units and will report directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the accounting team in general accounting tasks, including the execution of month-end close procedures, ensuring our financial statements are managed in line with GAAP.
• Manage the completion of comprehensive Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Lend expertise and assist with the post-close accounting of the Purchase Price Allocation for acquisitions.
• Cultivate and develop staff through experiential training techniques, fostering growth and proficiency in their roles.
• Act as the primary liaison between external auditors, tax preparers, and the organization.
• Assist in managing cash, banking operations in coordination with the Financial Planning/Treasury team.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of budget processes, including planning, analysis, and forecasting.

• Demonstrable experience with month end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• CPA or relevant certification is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
